HW1

24. HW1

  1. Briefly describe the measurement system you chose. (up to 10 lines)

  2. What is the question this system is designed to answer? (up to 5 lines)

  3. What is the “tolerated” level of uncertainty? why? (up to 5 lines)

  4. Describe the potential sourced for measurement errors and divide them to systematic and random. Can they be controlled? (up to 10 lines)

  5. Estimate the expected uncertainty arising from the uncertainties in the measurement of the different components (linear approximation is sufficient). Include any calculation you may have used. If a computer code was utilized include a printout of the code.

  6. Suggest a method to conduct a “sanity check” that will allow you to decide if its possible to conduct the experiment given the required level of uncertainty. Be specific in your description.
